Poconos Residence

Our design narrative for this home situated on a hillside in the beautiful Poconos Mountains consists of the two pillars below:

Honesty of Materials: The innate characteristics of the materials throughout are emphasized and highlighted. Texture is created through the adjacency of the varying natural qualities. Smooth and rough finishes of woods, metals, and stones, and a play on their reflectivity, add depth.

Framing and Highlighting Nature: The use of subtle muted tones allow the colors of the forest outside to become a focal point, blurring the line between interior and exterior, and allowing greenery to act as the burst of color among the muted interiors. Large unobstructed views are prioritized throughout.
